It was a big weekend in Austin!
Austin hosted the Republic of Texas Biker Rally. As a result, there was more traffic than usual and really long lines at restaurants all over town. I have a motorcycle enthusiast friend who gets annoyed with the [S]uburban yuppies who don't know what they're doing and come into Austin to drink, party, be inappropriate and show off that they can afford to buy Harley's they don't know how to operate or fix correctly...
that the ROT Rally apparently attracts. (That quote I took verbatim btw. ed.) But apparently the ROT boosts the local economy second to only SXSW! Thanks bikers!

Austin also hosted approx. 40,000 spectators and participants for the sixth annual Austin Pride Parade this weekend.
Rot Rally + Gay Pride Parade = a cornucopia of interesting characters downtown on Saturday night.
It started storming about an hour ago, and it looks like it's going to be a bumpy night. Flood and tornado warnings.
