Weekend Roundup: The beginning of June

This is a really funny commentary w/ screen shots from the Season 3 finale of "Lost." Haha... The writer
refers to Charlie's act of writing his last words with a Sharpie on his wet hands and sacrificing himself for Desmond as "Charlie's swan song." Clever.

The advertising firm Saatchi & Saatchi took home the Best Print Campaign Award at this year's CLIO Awards for their new ad series for client 42 Below Vodka. Check out this ad, titled "Office Party."
Pretty good stuff, eh?

It's a church sign smackdown! PWN3D = is online slang for "1337" or getting "owned."

Kind of interesting job: people-watching for design and engineering companies.

It was a big weekend in Austin!
Austin hosted the Republic of Texas Biker Rally. As a result, there was more traffic than usual and really long lines at restaurants all over town. I have a motorcycle enthusiast friend who gets annoyed with the
[S]uburban yuppies who don't know what they're doing and come into Austin to drink, party, be inappropriate and show off that they can afford to buy Harley's they don't know how to operate or fix correctly...

that the ROT Rally apparently attracts. (That quote I took verbatim btw. ed.) But apparently the ROT boosts the local economy second to only SXSW! Thanks bikers!

But thanks especially for introducing me to a new meaning of the phrase 'Helmet Hair:'
'Helmet Hair' is all the rage amongst some groups in the female motorcycle set.

Austin also hosted approx. 40,000 spectators and participants for the sixth annual Austin Pride Parade this weekend.

Rot Rally + Gay Pride Parade = a cornucopia of interesting characters downtown on Saturday night.

It started storming about an hour ago, and it looks like it's going to be a bumpy night. Flood and tornado warnings.
(The photo is of a storm super cell in West Texas. The panhandle receives almost all of its rainfall from such super cells in the late spring.)
Tomorrow is another day of Barbri... sigh...
